🛠️ Key Responsibilities of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
As an RBT with SMART ABA, you will play a vital role in helping children reach their potential by delivering high-quality, individualized care under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing individualized ABA treatment plans as directed by a supervising BCBA/BCaBA
- Delivering 1:1 direct ABA therapy using evidence-based techniques
- Applying core ABA principles such as reinforcement, prompting, shaping, and fading
- Teaching a wide range of skills including:
- Communication and language
- Social interaction
- Daily living and adaptive skills
- Creating a fun, motivating, and supportive environment that encourages engagement and learning
- Collecting data during sessions and inputting progress into an online system for analysis and review
- Effectively managing and minimizing challenging behaviors using proactive strategies and intervention protocols
- Collaborating with caregivers, teachers, and family members to promote consistency across all settings
- 🧾 Following treatment and behavior intervention plans designed and monitored by the clinical supervisor (BCBA/BCaBA)
